Four teams is the classic pool size for tournaments with a knockout stage. Three rounds is short, so many groups play it twice. That gives 6 rounds with every team at home three times; see the double round robin page. With two courts, a full single round robin of 30-minute games fits in 90 minutes.
Using this schedule
- Draw lots for the numbers 1 to 4 so nobody can complain about who they meet first.
- If one more team signs up late, generate a new schedule with 5 teams; one team will rest each round.
