Round Robin Tournament Schedule Generator
Type your teams, pick how many courts or fields you have and when play starts. You get a fair round robin with byes, balanced home and away games, court rotation and a start time for every match. It runs in your browser and the full schedule is free on screen.
What the generator takes care of
- Everyone plays everyone. Each pair meets exactly once in a single round robin, or twice (once at each end) in a double round robin.
- Byes for odd numbers. With 5, 7 or 9 teams one team sits out each round, and every team gets the same number of byes.
- Home and away balance. Home counts differ by at most one, and long runs of home-only or away-only games are avoided.
- Court rotation. Matches are spread over your courts or fields so no team is stuck on the same one all night.
- Early and late slots. When a round needs more than one time slot, teams that played late last round go earlier next round.
- Times and dates. Give a start time and slot length for a one-day event, or a first date and a gap in days for a weekly league.
How to use it
- Paste your team or player names, one per line. Duplicate names get a number added.
- Set the number of courts and the slot length. A slot is the game plus the time to change over.
- For a weekly league, set the first date, how many rounds you play per date and the days between dates.
- Press Generate schedule. Switch between the round list, one card per team, the grid and the fairness check.
Your inputs are kept in this browser only, so the form is filled in again next time you open the page. Nothing is uploaded.

Common questions
How many games and rounds will my tournament have?
With n teams there are n×(n−1)/2 games. An even number of teams needs n−1 rounds; an odd number needs n rounds, because one team rests each round. Eight teams play 28 games over 7 rounds; nine teams play 36 games over 9 rounds. A double round robin doubles both numbers.
How long will it take on my courts?
Each round needs as many time slots as its games divided by your courts, rounded up. Eight teams have 4 games per round, so 2 courts need 2 slots per round and 14 slots in total. At 30 minutes per slot that is 7 hours. The courts and time slots guide has a calculator.
Does the order of names matter?
The order decides who meets whom in which round. If you want to keep two strong teams apart until the last round, try different orders or tick "Shuffle the draw" and generate again until you like it.
Can a team drop out after the schedule is made?
Yes. Treat the missing team as a bye: its opponents simply rest in that round. Every other game stays where it is, so nobody needs a new schedule.
Is this only for team sports?
No. It works for anything where every entrant meets every other one: volleyball, pickleball, football, chess, darts, table tennis, board game nights, quiz leagues or esports.
